The Old Capitol Prison (1st and A Streets, NE). building served as the Congressional meeting house after the British burned the Capitol during the War of 1812. This column, located in Prospect Park (Brooklyn, New York) commemorates the 400 Maryland soldiers who fought at Lookout Hill during the Battle of Long Island on August 27, 1776.
